The legalisation of weed has already happened in some countries and american states, which means the ball is rolling and personally i think it will be impossible to stop.
Here are my 5 Top reasons for Weed being legalised everywhere!

Incarceration Ruins Lives!
the thought of someone being put in prison for the possession of weed is just outrageous. if that person has just a small amount, for personal use and is doing nothing else of any bad nature in the process - it is disgusting to think they should be put in prison for any number of hours/days/months !
Incarceration, no matter the length of time, can do so much damage to a person both mentally and maybe physically if anything should happen to them while they're inside. On top of this person now having a criminal record, their family also has to deal with them being locked away. whether it be a wife/husband having to cope with their partner being locked up or a child losing a parent! - this can cause a lot of mental stress on any of these victims all for such a small "crime"

Weed is safer than many other LEGAL drugs
In fact, weed is 114 times LESS toxic than Alcohol! around the world, around 5 million people die from tobacco-related illness, whereas there have been ZERO reports of an deaths from an overdose of weed, its practically impossible to overdose on weed. A smoker would theoretically have to consume nearly, 1,500 pounds of weed within 15 minutes to die of an overdose.
If you compare weed to many prescription drugs, there is no comparison. a few years back now, the CDC officially declared prescription drug abuse in the U.S. to be an epidemic, with overdoses reaching 44 deaths per day, that's around 17,000 per year! This means deaths caused by overdosing on prescription drugs outweigh the number of deaths caused by heroin and cocaine combined...

Legalisation would lower DRUG RELATED Crime
So long as the price of buying weed legally stays cheaper than buying it on the black market, there would be no opportunity to sell weed on the black market. Meaning the crimes which would usually be committed, related to weed, would no exist.
In Colorado, the state saw an overall decrease of 2.5% in the crime rate per 100,000 people. there was also a 3.1% drop in property crimes and a 12.8% drop in homicides. In Denver - assaults, murders, rapes, burglaries and other violent crimes all declined during the first few months of 2014!

It would generate revenue and would be great for the economy
First of all, legalising weed means there would need to be somewhere to sell it, and each "WeGrow" Centre creates 75 jobs, according to AZBusiness Magazine. Secondly legalising weed is estimated to save the tax payer $41.8 Billion a year in prohibition costs. and even if these taxes were still being paid, at least it could be spent on something more useful! Finally, the money wasted on the black market would be spent within the economy and if the legalisation of weed makes the price lower, people will have more money to spend on other things as well.
Fun Fact - In 2015, Legal marijuana was the fastest growing industry in the U.S.

Weed has many medicinal applications
Even in such early stages of experiments, investigations and studying - there are many positive, medical uses for different ingredients of weed. These uses included:
- To reduce the effects of Nausea & Vomiting
- Treat patients of Anorexia & Cachexia
- Has Beneficial effects on Spasticity
- Can reduce the effects of Movement Disorders, such as: Tourette's Syndrome, Dystonia & Tardive Dyskinesia
- Pain Relief
- Reduces Intraocular Pressure to help victims of Glaucoma
There has even been reports that a marijuana-derived compound forces cancer cells to freeze, preventing them from spreading!
So, i hope you enjoyed my 5 reasons for legalising Weed around the world. please leave a comment if you agree, disagree or want to add a reason of your own :) - also, don't forget to uproot and reset if you enjoyed this post.
Peace!
No government should have the ability to regulate what I do with my body, weather or not it is good or bad for me.
Correct!
Yes and no. It depends on a structure of the government - if it has a large social package for recovering druggies - government pays for the rehab so it should have some sort say in it. I personally think that putting anything in your body should be legal. The only thing should be illegal is selling dangerous substances. Marijuana is pretty harmless though - the only real danger comes from inhaling it and driving, which is a little more dangerous than with drinking and driving.
I suppose we ought to end all government sponsored programs so we can protect basic human rights. They're too inefficient and the thought that they can force me to do or not do something is insane. We need to revert back to the more successful private charities, cut the programs and lower taxes. Best of both worlds, then we won't have megalomaniacs pretending they have the right to make health decisions for me.
Your list is good; but it is from the perspective of someone who wants/likes weed
What are the benefits to someone who doesnt like it?
If it is legalized; and my neighbor smokes enough that the smoke/smell enters my backyard and i dont want it.... how does legalization benefit me?
Well that's like saying "what if my neighbour buys a dog and lets it 'mess' in the back yard and doesn't clean up it's mess".... Their garden will smell and you will probably smell it from your garden too, but there isn't much you can do about it...
You are correct, i wont argue that.
but right now im only worrying about dog smells.... with full legalization i would have to worry about dog smells AND weed smells.
So for non-weed patrons; what are the benefits?
Why weed should be legal- No reason it shouldn't
Why weed will become legal- Money
