RE: Cloaking technology: Futuristic or realistic?

in #science7 years ago

Hollywood had spoilt the futuristic technology. Why do I say that? People are quick to see a future where robot would be artificially intelligent as bad. The robots would start killing people, most do not see it could actually be a good thing, a robot firefighter can always die in an inferno. All we do then is build ourselves a new one. A cloaking technology could be useful too. A cloak device could also have a good use case scenario, eg photographing wild animals could be less dangerous as the animal can't see the photographers :)
Great article, I'm a fan of future tech. Gracias.

The truth is that bad robot concept is a stereotype, just like how the Asian dude is assumed to be a martial artiste or how a timer always stops at 00:01

Yeah, movies after movies depicts this, I watched Ex Machina with same stereotype. A robot with AI betrays the friends, killing some and escaping to the outside world.
