Google supports artificial intelligence to automatically write thousands of local news...

in #science7 years ago

Artificial intelligence seems to be developing faster than we imagine or what we can understand. Rather, the past years have been a good example of this much-leveraged process over the last two years, in line with the development of many technologies, such as enhanced and virtual reality.

Google Digital News Initiative plans to invest £ 622,000 (US $ 805,000) to fund a British initiative to automatically write local news, that is, through artificial intelligence programs.

The program will be called RADAR, which will collect data, reports and statistics especially for writing over 30,000 articles per month.

Urbs will cost the media to create intelligent programs capable of compiling the data in a human-understandable way, hoping to fill the gap in local news writing in Britain on the one hand, and fight rumors and false news on the other.

The project's authors believe that the machine will not leave the human being in the writing process, but will help him greatly, leaving the book the right to modify and improve the published news.

Radar is not the first smart program of its kind in this field, has been issued for another time capable of writing novels, and another capable of executing a short film, which puts many of the human creativity to compete with the machine.

Seems like a great way for corporations to control the news even at the local level...
