So I was watching "Ancient Aliens" last night and they were discussing our missions to Mars and the interesting human-like structures we think we see in the photos sent back to earth. One theory and one of the widest excepted is that people that see things such as the "Martian Face" are actually only perceiving a familiar pattern in randomness, or pareidolia.
Another theory is that these are actually human structures or artifacts left behind by prior civilizations that use to call Mars home. So if civilizations use to live on Mars, what happened to them?
Anyone that follows science, astronomy and the Mars missions has almost certainly seen the very large scar-like system of canyons known as Valles Marineris. This system of canyons covers about 1/5 of planet's circumference or about 2500 miles (4,000 km.) Some points of the system span 125 miles (200 km) wide and up to 6 miles (10 km) deep.
There are many theories that seem to come up when talking about this scar-like canyon system, but the one that seems to be the most interesting to me is well known by most Electrical Engineers that have an interest in Mars. The scar on Mars surface doesn't seem to be created by water cutting through the rock like the Grand Canyon on earth or that of volcanic activity but a large external electrical discharge that happened on the surface and cut through the rock.
Could this electrical discharge been from some massive weapon? Could civilizations that lived on Mars known that this was coming and planned on coming to Earth and did to Earth what we plan to do to Mars and terraform it?
In an effort to keep this post short I'll leave it with this...
Could humans be descendants of martians? I guess it's a possibility, but at the very least it's an interesting theory and fun to watch/read about!
