Illusion is a billion dollar a year business. I guess you actually think this woman is cut in half then? Or would you find OTHER methods to confirm or deny what you believe you see to find the reality?
Plus, I provided plenty of OTHER observations that are in direct contradiction with a flat earth, like increased distance to horizon at altitude and horizon drop. Both impossible on a flat earth. So, not really sure why you think 'looking flat' is the 'be all end all' when there are thousands of observations that have been made for thousands of years that directly contradict looking flat, and since looking flat is perfectly consistent with a globe the size of the earth, we need to look to other observations to find out the truth.
Looking flat and ignoring everything else that contradicts that is neither rational nor scientific, particularly since looking flat at first glance is perfectly consistent with a globe the size of the earth. If you refuse to use a calculator, then you can't possibly know that looking flat is consistent with a globe the size of the earth, and might come to an incorrect conclusion based on first glances and ignoring everything else inconsistent with that first glance.
Right, trust calculator not eyes. Got it.
a. Didn't say that. When you MUST misrepresent in order to maintain your fantasy, well, you obviously have no facts.
b. So you think that woman is actually cut in half? You believe your eyes and don't use any other facts that are contrary to what you see to come to the correct conclusion that she is not cut in half?
My eyes see through basic magician's tricks. I haven't had the advanced class. You don't need the advanced class to see through space agency fraudulence. I see how old this post is and I suppose you must feel attacked out of nowhere - that was not my intention. When I see some slack on the other side of an important argument I want to take it up.
You can? Well, you must be the most super special vision person in the world! Because almost no one besides trained magicians can actually see the sleight of hand of skilled magicians. I suspect, like most people, you don't actually SEE the sleight of hand, but you put the pieces together through logic and reason, that it IS sleight of hand and you are now, again, misrepresenting to make a particular case that you are not actually stating. Because you say there is slack in the argument, yet you do not prove there is, nor even present such a case.
PS. EVEN IF NASA lies about EVERYTHING, that is not the slightest bit of evidence the earth is not a sphere that we live on. That is called a 'red herring'. It literally 'does not follow' that if NASA lies, the earth is something other than a sphere. And I didn't bring up ANY evidence from NASA, so why are you saying they lie when it's COMPLETELY and TOTALLY off topic?
As I mentioned, we've known the earth is round for over 2000 years based on simple observations, many of which I've provided in my blog, and thousands of others you can see for yourself, many/most just with the naked eye, many others with some basic telescope usage.
I would highly suggest you join an astronomy club and go see for yourself some of the thousands of ways we absolutely are 100% sure it's a sphere... without the need for a single piece of evidence from NASA or from any government. Just your own simple observations anyone can make.
Bully for you! Science is never 100% sure about anything. Everything can be questioned, always. I have a telescope. Funny how you you draw a comparison to magicians as if you were in a special category that can't be fooled. Everybody plays the fool - has it never been your turn?
Yet, you still haven't shown why it's wrong! Saying it 'could' be wrong and 'can be questioned', does not make it so. But... seems you are not going to make a point or take a stand. Much easier that way. You never have to prove or disprove anything at all!
I will think the world is stationary until motion is detectable and measurable. You haven't done this. No curvature has ever been measured or detected outside of a theory. You haven't done this either, and it would be foolish of you to debate either of those points with calculations based on a theoretical model. No one has ever seen a black hole, yet everyone knows what they look like. They don't exist outside of a theory.
