Yes, knucklehead the earth is moving at about 1000 mph at the equator. Speed and rotation are two separate things.

The earth can spin only once per 24 hours which is very slow. Take a basket ball and spin it once in 24 hours. Would you say the basketball was spinning quickly or slowly?
