In the near future humans will be able to live on other planets, moons or other asteroids. Imagine being able to go on a vacation on a planet that is light years away. That is what the future holds for space travel for humans. Private space companies are investing in areas like space tourism and exploration. In the near future it will possible to use robots to mine for natural resources on far away planets.

With the cost of launching rockets into space reducing since successful lunches made by spaceX , space tourism is no longer a distant dream. The world's first commercial space company virgin galactic, founded by Richard Branson plans to fly people to space in 2018.

One of the major challenges to space exploration is self sufficiency. To colonize other planets humans need to create conditions that are similar to the ones here on earth to ensure survival. Essential supplies like water, oxygen, food would have to be in constant supply from earth to sustain such colonies. To solve such challenges there has to be a way to produce these supplies from local materials.

A brief history of space exploration

In 1958 the first US satellite, Explorer 1 went into orbit. In 1962 John Glenn, became the first man to Orbit the earth, In a hstoric flight that lasted a few minutes.

In 1962 Neil Armstrong became the first man on the moon, after that 6 Apollo missions explored the moon between 1969 to 1972.

Skylab, America’s first space station, was a human-spaceflight highlight of the 1970s, In the 1980s satellite communications expanded to carry television programs, and people were able to pick up the satellite signals on their home dish antenna.

Conclusion

Space exploration has evolved beyond our imagination, and we hope we will witness the first inter-galactic.

I disagree...I dont think that there are any suitable planets close enough to get to or have what we need. Just taking a shuttle to Mars for example is a year and a half flight from Earth just think about that. One of the biggest inhibitors I guess to a mass colonization of another planet would be transporting water. Where is there any water on Mars? Do you know someone who doesn't need it? One can fantasize though and that's how the impossibility becomes reality, but unless we figure out how to use warp drives and such we are stuck here in my eyes. I do see the possibility of man visiting Mars but it is an awfully long flight. I doubt the people who go will have families.

I appreciate your opinions, but nothing is an absolute impossibility. 50 years ago no one would have thought, we would experience such level of innovation in science, but today because of science, there are many things that exist today, which no one thought possible

I can appreciate that thought

One day man will walk on Mars but that day could be centuries away. Why? Because such an adventure will not get off the ground while we live in a material wealth age (Money make the world go around). Unless any business can make money from a project with in a projected time it will be abandoned! Electric Cars were around 100 years ago but were abandoned for a quicker money making venture, Oil. But now someone has found a way to make you pay money to have and keep one, now all manufactures are in (It actually has very little to do with going Green)!

Historically 60% to 70% of technical advancement was from and because of Military gain from an aggressor who saw a benefit of having that advantage (Not necessarily that they honed it and used it, but they pushed everyone else to scramble for it as well. Hanabel, Hitler, Khan Napoleon just to name a few).

So unless Little Kim somehow invents an actual spaceship with weapons capability and builds a base on the Moon, we will not see space travel break from our high altitude orbit (U.S. v Ruskies 60's-70's style).

I agree with you, politics and other forms of bureaucracy acts as an inhibitor to the growth of science and technology. There is need for a level playing field if the world wants to arrive at the level of civilization it dreams of

Agreed.

I guess the spaceX astronaughts get real hungry. ;)

yes you are right

Saw the sky, saw the river, saw many stars .. today and steemite who are my real friends ... !! @monirol-islam

I dream to see the conquest of space

Me too, I dream of being able to see other planets as well
