In some manners, living in the modern age of science limits our collective thinking about certain phenomena that might lie outside of the accepted norms - such as Earth's Moon - being "alive" in any sense of the word....that was not the case in the 19th century of course. Indeed, as you will read in the link featured with this story, you'll "discover" the obvious obsession that scientists of the early time of science had with "mapping" the moon.
To me, while most of this fantastic post is about the crater Plato - the "disappearing" crater to me was the most interesting.
