Plant geneticists have develop a new way of CRISPR to break yield in crops.
This news is dated on 14th of September 2017 from cold spring harbor laboratory. With the current situation where human population is on the rise, much should be done to increase food production to cater for the growing population. Scientists have come up with a way to improve production in agriculture by harnessing untapped power of genome to improve this production. They have used a tomato as an example to mobilize CRISPR that rapidly make plant to increase its fruit size, plant shape and production much branches hence production is increased.

RNA discovery could help boost plant heat and make plant be drought tolerant

This is among the latest news in science that is dated 18th September 2017 from Texas A& M AgriLife Communication. With the current global climate change trends, many parts are being exposed to drier condition making agriculture to be a little hectic. But this should not worry you that much as bright brains in the field of science have come up with RNA discovery that will increase the plant’s ability to resist stress from salt and drought. This will make drier parts of many country increase their agricultural production.
Vaping has doubled risk of smoking to teenagers
A new research from the University of Waterloo that is dated 18th September 2017 shows that many teenagers who have tried an e — cigarette have doubled their risk for smoking tobacco cigarettes. The study shows that these teens are 2.16 times likely to be susceptible to smoking cigarette.
New mirror coating technology has brought about great changes in telescopes.
This is the latest information in science that has its originality in university of California in Santa Cruz on 18th September 2017. An electrical engineer teamed up with astronomers to have an improvement on telescope mirrors. They used thin film technology from electronic industry to come up with this innovation. This will be a new protective coating that will be using an automatic layer deposition system that are large to accommodate telescope mirrors.
UC Santa Cruz researchers worked with Structured Materials Industries to design and construct an atomic layer deposition (ALD) system large enough to accommodate telescope mirrors.
Climate change is not a big threat as people thought it was in previous years
This is just surprising as many people thought climate is the biggest threat to our planet earth. A study by a British scientist shows that our plant earth pollution is less quickly and the warming up rates are less than 10 years old forecast had predicted. This will actually give countries more time to get rid of this carbon output or the green house gases. He said renewable energy is contributing greatly to the world not being affected much by climate change hence contributing to a positive outlook.
