Quanta may usually be created in states with some degree of entanglement, but as they get separated and interact locally with different neighborhoods, this entanglement may easily be destroyed. Actually, one of the main technical challenges that quantum computation has been facing is precisely in being able to maintain entanglement between the qubits, which tends to be destroyed due to the environmental noise.
