I feel like we discover new harmful viruses as they come, which just goes to show the unfathomable number of virus out there and only a small percentage are harmful.
$1.2 billion dollars doesn’t seem like an expensive price to pay given that the rewards will be more information on virus which could potentially prevent them in the long run.
I would argue that if it’s 10 year investment we’ll probably need more as it’s a high risk we may run into some compilications which require cash injections.
Indeed, it's a low price to pay in exchange for the benefits we would obtain. I hope that the investment in science will be greater and we'll realize how important it is.
