When the gel is injected into the wound, it forms a thrombus that stops bleeding within 12 seconds, and heals the wound within minutes, according to Landolina.

The gel consists of a kind of algae, which consists of small polymers, and when injected wound it forms a network and strongly attached to the wound.

The gel network also helps the body produce Vibrin protein on the surface of the wound, which helps heal the wound, and after a few minutes it can be removed.

Currently, the gel will be used for veterinary treatment, and the inventor hopes to get approval to begin his experience on human wounds.
