Coffee has now become a lifestyle for some circles. But, you know, coffee drinkers now grouped into three?

Following a research report by the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee, this grouping is based on the body's sensitivity to caffeine.

This grouping was obtained after the researchers observed how the body's metabolism of caffeine. Selein that, they also observe the difference in the influence of caffeine on each person.

The researchers found there are two major genetic factors that affect how a person responds to caffeine.

The two factors are the speed of the liver processing the compound and how the central nervous system reacts to its stimulating effects.

As a result, they divide coffee drinkers into the following three groups.

1. High sensitivity to caffeine

Coffee drinkers in this group had a slower liver metabolism. In addition, a strong effect is also seen in the central nervous system when consuming caffeine.

When people in this group consume a small amount of caffeine it will cause a stimulatory effect. If consuming in higher doses usually occurs sleep problems and so on.

2. Medium / normal sensitivity to caffeine

People in this group have a balance between caffeine inactivation in the liver and central nervous system.

Consumption of two to five cups of coffee a day does not make a harmful reaction to the body or sleep cycle. Even so, the consumption of coffee at night is still not recommended because it may cause 'can not sleep'.

3. Low sensitivity to caffeine

Coffee drinkers in this group have a caffeine metabolism in the liver quickly.

Therefore, although many consume coffee has no effect on the body or sleep cycle. Drinking coffee before bed also will not keep people in this group awake all night.

"It's common for people to ask their doctors why they stay awake even if they just drink a cup of coffee, while their partner easily fall asleep after five cups," says JW Langer.

"The answer is that we are all unique coffee drinkers, our genetic program controls our reaction to caffeine, just like programming our hair color and eyes," said the pharmacology lecturer at the University of Copenhagen School of Medicine.

Langer notes that people in group 3 should still not be consuming caffeine beyond the recommended daily limit.

The seemingly safe upper limit for most healthy adults is 400 milligrams of caffeine per day, equivalent to about four to five cups of brewed coffee.

The report also shows that health professionals should consider these three sensitivities before advising people on caffeine intake.
