Scientists have started testing first worldwide universal flu vaccines for humans. If this test is successful, it will eliminate the need for annual flu injections.

This vaccine contains virus particles that are inactivated and made from proteins which are found in virus. This triggers the immunity system to fight off virus and proves an effective strategy.

Scientists have discovered clean-water ice below the surface of Mars. This water could be used for future exploration. These pure water ice is found in deposits and are covered by layer of rock and dust.

Some deposits are 01 meter below surface and some are 100 meters deep. This pure water will prove very helpful for exploration missions.

Brain imaging shows how Alzheimer’s protein called Tau kills nerve cells. The scientists have discovered that this protein spreads in brain like infections.

If we block its spread, it could prevent the disease from taking hold. Tau is a protein that holds together active microtubules in dendrite and axon.

Researchers at University of Texas have discovered a drug which could reduce obesity. It could help in weight loss and it will not even suppress hunger.

It can also regulate blood cholesterol levels to normal. This drug selectively shrinks excess fat and increases fat cell metabolism.

Researchers have recreated the DNA of man who died about 200 years ago. This DNA was created from his living descendants rather than physical remains.

This technique could help medical cloning and forensics and shows the power of modern genetics.

Researchers at NASA have invented a new space navigation technique which would help guide spacecrafts into far reaches of universe. This new X-ray like technique uses pulsars as guide stars. It is indeed a breakthrough for deep space exploration.

Scientists have started making carbon fiber from plants instead of petroleum. It will help industry to make lighter and cheaper cars with less fuel consumption. Although it is very costly. Race cars are made of carbon fibers because it is five times stronger than steel.

Scientists have discovered proof that ozone layer is healing itself. It is due to the global efforts to ban harmful chemicals. This ozone layer is expected to make full recovery by 2060. According to research, size of ozone hole has shrunk by around 4m sq km since 2000.

Wow, I appreciate this information. I am always trying to find what is the latest and greatest. Thank you

This is a true scientific work

It is a good start to the year. Some good stepping-stone discoveries for health and space travel. Can't wait to see what the next month holds.

Nice post. :)

Very good your post @munawar1235

I am a newcomer, I need support from you. I am from aceh Indonesia.Thank you

Welcome to the platform :)

You are welcome frend

break on through to the explanation of things, and creation of things that can do new things to explain! whaaaa yeah

Ozone recovery is a good good news.

Good thing we banned CFC’s!

This is very informative. Nice!

That was a lot of information to take in. All I can really gather is that advances are being made.

How do we know the DNA of the 200 year dead man was really recreated? Do we have his original DNA to compare to?

And great news for the ozone layer, does that mean we can go easier on the sunscreen?

I wonder if there will be an attempt to regulate use of natural resources on Mars? Any expeditions will likely be centered close to these water reserves.
