Stephen Hawking died today. In a sad and ironic twist, he died on Einstein’s birthday.
Although it is sad, it is great that he was able to live so long with such a horrible disease.
He was such an icon of science that he became a pop culture icon. Helping to make science cool for a younger generation is a major part of his legacy, beyond the obvious legacy of valiantly fighting ALS and coming up with his brilliant theories.
