About Dinosaur Extinction, Researchers Have Discovered New Evidence

Dinosaurs were ancient animals that had become extinct millions of years ago. The extinction of this species remains a question that remains unanswered. There are many conspiracies about it, but there is no strong evidence to prove it.

Today scientists have reportedly analyzed ancient rocks and have found traces of a large volcanic eruption estimated from 200 million years ago. The eruption is thought to be the reason for the mass extinction of the dinosaur species.

The study, published in the journal PNAS, led by Lawrence Percival of the department of Earth Sciences at Oxford University reveals, Dinosaurs can take advantage of ecological niches left out because of extinction.

The researchers also saw volcanic rocks from four continents that were claimed to be scattered due to the incident at the time of the eruption. However, this study examined the different volcanic activity side of mercury.

When the volcano erupts, they emit a trace of mercury in a gas clump that rises to the sky. It then spreads throughout the atmosphere before being stored in sediment in the ground, where it remained for millions of years.

If you can see a large surge of mercury in the sediment, you can infer any volcanism that occurs at the right time. And that's what we see when the extinction happens.

They, the researchers also found evidence of enormous volcanic activity will continue for approximately one million years. Prof Tamsin Mather from the University of Oxford said the cracks open in the Earth's crust and possibly several sources of fire fountains as well as open lava flows.

Anything living around the eruption will be very bad, although scientists are not sure how dinosaurs can survive this extremely dangerous heat. Now, researchers want to use mercury to see other periods of ancient volcanic activity. Because this research is useful to prevent unexpected events in the future.
