I was very much a child of the space race. Entranced watching the John Glenn launch, my grandmother removed one of my baby teeth during his second orbit. 😂
I watched the moon landing on Norwegian television while visiting at my uncle's house in Drammen.
I was too little to be really scared, but we did do those duck and cover drills in school like you may have seen in old black and white footage. If we happened to be in the hall when the drill started, us boys had to shield the girls. To help insure the survival of the species I guess.
But I do remember fear going around during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Adults talked among themselves in hushed tones that us kids couldn't hear and my parents suddenly bought a lot of extra canned food to store in the basement.
Hehe, yeah I suppose it's a reminder to a lot of people that time has passed! ^^
Well, in a way I'm also a bit envious as it means you were then old enough to remember the moon landing :)

Haha that is very novel, for the boys having to shild all girls haha. I've seen the duck and cover vids ya!
Hmm luckily the war with Cuban didn't happen :)
