Everything you need to know about Black Holes - PART 3

in #science6 years ago (edited)

Hello steemians! How you doin? Today I am back with the 3rd part of the series "Everything you need to know about black holes". In this article we will see what will happen if a black hole enters in our solar system. This is going to be awesome, right? I know, so let's start.

For part 1 click here

For part 2 click here

Okay so coming back to the question, what will happen if a black hole is wandering in our solar system? Well that depends. Depends on what? You may ask. It depends on the size of the black hole. Here size means the mass of black hole. More the mass, more will be its area under its clutches. According to scientists the mass of the star, the imminent black hole should have a mass of about 1.6 times the mass of our own sun. Otherwise after supernova it will just become a dwarf star and not a black hole.

Therefore the minimum mass of a black hole is about 1.6 times of our sun. This implies that even if a natural occurring black hole enters our solar system we are in trouble because since its mass will be more than our sun, it's gravitational pull will also be greater than our sun. Due to this the orbital of each planet will be perturbed. This can cause collision of different planets including our earth and we the residents of planet earth will be doomed. So definitely everything will be disturbed if a black hole enters our solar system.

If the black hole passes very close from our earth it will be even more devastating. We will be seeing floods having height more than burj khalifa, earthquakes having intensity we can't even measure with our current technology, buildings will be ripped out from their foundation, cars will be flying in sky, etc.

Now you will be thinking that first I said it depends on the size of black hole and then I said even if the smallest natural black hole enters our solar system it will be devastating. But as some of you may have noticed that I said naturally occurring black holes. Those who have read my previous articles knows that every object having some mass can be converted in a black hole if we make its size less than its Schwarzchild radius. So now what will happen if we transform Mt. Everest in a black hole on our earth. You may be thinking that since it is present on our earth things will be even more devastating. No, that's not the case. Since its mass is still same it is not gonna make the cars fly. Having the same mass as before it's gravitational pull is still gonna be the same. But still if you stand just next to it, things will be different. It will rip your body apart. Sphagettification of your body will take place and you will be turned into ashes.

Source

So basically everything depends on the size i.e. mass of the black hole. Not every black hole is gonna hurt you. Smaller the black hole smaller will be its area under its clutches. As far as you maintain some distance and stay out of its photon sphere you are safe. So now you know what happens if we or our solar system encounters a black hole. Good luck showing off your knowledge in front of your friends and maybe even your professors 😜.

That's all for today and I will meet you next time with some more science. Till then good bye and take care.

So pleased. That's exactly what this contest is all about! Feel free to join in.

Thanks...as I promised I done

You have a minor misspelling in the following sentence:

This implies that even if a natural occuring black hole enters our solar system we are in trouble because since its mass will be more than our sun, it's gravitational pull will also be greater than our sun.
It should be occurring instead of occuring.

Thanks for correcting me.

Well written article. You have worked really hard to research about blackhole

Hello, I came to know about this post via "pay it forward" featured post. It has been a highlight in their contest and I was curious about it.
Here I am to read about what you wrote and I was glad to note your story about a black hole. It sounds scary to me though with the damage that can bring by the black hole
anyway, that was a good write-up
Cheers

Thank you 😊

Well.. you've wrote an easy to understand about blackhole though I've read many articles about it before😉 thank you for sharing this with us😊 somehow, many people predict about dooms day or sun-storms effect to Earth and universe, but not that interesting as this post.

Found your post through @viking-ventures entry post for the pay it forward contest this week. Wish you continued succeed and keep steem it on💪

My Comment Protector is @dustsweeper

do you have any article about how many time that our galaxy entered by the black hole before?
interesting post @rahulk200013, found your post through @viking-ventures in the pay it forward contest this week.

No currently scientists haven't found a black in our galaxy except Sagittarius A*, which is in the centre of our galaxy. In reality have never really seen a black hole. They just predict black holes by the behaviour of surroundings.

Sorry for a late reply 😅

That was worth the read just to learn about Sphagettification. That really is a thing I was interested enough to Google it 😊
That would probably leas to some interesting effects if only anyone were alive to see.
I found you because @viking-ventures featured you in this weeks #payitforward contest.

Thank you 😄

As you know @viking-ventures featured you in this week's #PayItForward Contest @pifc.

Very well put together and a good read. I like that you added a bit of humor. Spaghettification? I learned a new word today. It's a good day!!

Please consider looking into #PayItForward contest, we would love to have you join in. It's a great way to give back to the community. Not only do you benefit, but those you feature do too.

Actually I am considering to participate into #PayItForward contes. It's a great opportunity for me to help others who are just like me. Thanks @tryskele.

Glad to hear it. I wasn't sure at first, it has been one of the best decisions I have made. It's a really good group of people.

Very interesting article.

PS: I have found you through @viking-ventures suggestion in the Pay It Forward Contest.

Thank you 😄
