I know quite a number of people will not agree with me, especially those that have been stung by scorpions, but scorpions have some awesome benefits embedded in them.
There are about 2,000 species of scorpions, but it's just about 0.0175% of these species have venom strong enough to kill an adult human. Isn't that interesting?
Scorpion Venom and Cancer Cure
A rare specie of Scorpion, Blue Scorpion (Rhopalurus junceus) found mainly in Cuba has been proven to contain a protein compound that combats breast cancer in female humans. Now, this is getting more amazing. Also, a drug (Vidatox) has been created from the venom of this scorpion to help patients with breast cancer.
Before I continue, I'd love to drop a quick bonus tip for you.
Scorpion venom is the world's costliest liquid: $38,858,507 per gallon
That being said; it has also been proven that the Death stalker or Yellow Scorpion (Leiurus Quinquestriatus) secrets a chemical; peptide, which can trigger cell mortality. This peptides can be used to fight cancer cells too.
Here's another quick bonus tip:
Yellow scorpion glows in the dark
So you see, scorpions are not completely useless. Before you kill that scorpion, here's how to know if it's dangerous:
Most of the dangerous species have sleeker bodies with slim and elongated tail. Also, the claws on their heads are slim (there are exceptions though).
I know some people will still smash any scorpion at first sight without looking out for these features.
