I am curious about the number of humans who have lived on this planet. I have started researching on Google. I found out that Until now, 108 Billion humans have lived on earth. It is quite an astonishing number.
In 2050, 113 Billion homo sapiens will live on earth. Though it is difficult to estimate the total number of humans ever lived on earth due to not availability of data. Calculation of humans who have ever lived on earth depends on two factors: 1) the length of time humans have been on earth; and 2) the average size of human populations at different
According to the United Nations' "Determinants and Consequences of Population Trends," modern Homo sapiens appeared about 50,000 B.C periods. I mean modern-day homo sapiens appeared 50,000 BC.
8000 BC, world population was only 5 million. But the number increased to 300 million by 1 AD. Please look at the below charts to get an idea of homo sapiens status
what do you think? How far homo sapiens will go? Please leave your thoughts on the comments section.
Have a great day.
I think you're off by the 113 billion number and the year 2050. The U.N. estimates 11.2 billion around 2100. Also, current anthropology fossil research puts modern homo sapiens sapiens ("Homo sapiens" is a broad term that includes other extinct sapiens subspecies. The extra "sapiens' designates the modern man subspecies).
If you assume humans continue technological advancement a population of a trillion humans could easily be possible when Kardashev scale Type II level is reached.
I have an anthropology community I'll cross-post this to. You are welcome to join if this kind of thing interests you.
