The deep sea, beautiful beaches, loose soil and dry land are on top of the plates of the earth. Some plates move away, causing the incandescent rock to rise up through the gap between the bottom and the hard layer. The other plates collide with each other that produce multiple formations. Can be folded into a row of mountains after millions of years or eroded alongside. Torsion and pull of the continuous plate side can form strain and tension in rock that can collapse and cause earthquakes. The precise point above the earthquake is called the epicenter. The energy released diffuses in a series of seismic waves or vibrations. This vibration will weaken at a distance farther from the epicenter, but still can be felt at a distance of 1,600 kilometers.
Silent but moving. The beach looks comfortable. The land where the building stands on the left-right was solid, sturdy, and silent. Though the land is not silent, including those far below the water. The land kept moving.
The outer layer of the earth is divided into giant plates, like giant puzzle pieces. The plates keep moving, pushing or moving away very slowly. When the plates rub against each other and collide, a shock wave is felt as an earthquake.

Humans live on the surface of the outer shell of the earth called the lithosphere. This layer of rock can reach a thickness of 500 kilometers, including the earth's crust and the top of the mantle. The lithosphere consists of seven major tectonic plates and several small plates. Below the lithosphere, there is an Asthenosphere, a layer composed of melts and liquids. Scientists believe that tectonic plates float above this layer, moving as far as 5 centimeters each year. This number does seem small but can have major consequences, including earthquakes (sometimes followed by tsunamis) that are potential to bring casualties and property into account.
Dangerous area. Almost all major earthquakes occurred along the two-plate meeting. The most dangerous area is on the border of the Pacific plate, the crack that surrounds the Pacific Ocean. More half the earthquakes occur along this line. Volcanic eruptions also occur here.

Myth. The earth-generating earth waves have been going on for millions of years. In ancient times, all natural disasters were regarded as deeds of the gods. Earthquakes, thunder, and lightning, floods, and droughts, are seen as a sign of the god being angry. Some of the ancient obsessions-such as the Mausoleum, Colossus, and Pharos-collapsed by the quake. The magnificent palace built by the Minos in Knossos collapsed in the 1700s BC. The inhabitants of Pompeii and Herculaneum cities in Rome even experienced a powerful earthquake of 63 AD, 16 years before the volcano Vesuvius erupted and destroyed the two ancient cities.

People of primitive times often associate natural phenomena with a certain confidence. The ancient Greeks claimed the Atlas movement that bears the earth over its shoulders as the cause of the earthquake. In Greek mythology, Atlas is the god of earth bearer. The ancestors of the tribe of ougandans in Africa believe the earth is located above a stone in a Victorian lake and an earthquake occurs when the god Muassasa walks around the lake. Tibetans believe that the earth is carried by a big toad when the frog moves the body, there is an earthquake. Brahmins believe that the earth once was stolen by a giant snake placed above the seventh heaven. By the help of Lord Vishnu, the earth can be recaptured. However, now the earth can no longer float above the water. As a result, the god Vishnu ordered the first seven guardians of the heavens to carry the earth in turn. Every time there is a change of bearer, an earthquake happens.

I have ever heard about this explanion when I was in senior high school. That the surface of the earth is made up of seven major of tectonic plates. Thanks for sharing an useful post buddy.
You are welcome @redrose. Yups, many of us already know about this tectonic plates and so on. I want to explain little bit more in this occasion. Thanks for visiting my post, and really appreciate about your nice words.
