RE: Cassini mission finds out that Saturn's rings are made up of a crushed moon's particles

Saturn's rings are pretty awesome.

It's probably my favorite thing to check out with a scope, never managed to get any decent images because it's so small & my gear isn't ideal. Still gotta try though :P.

Great. I never had the privilege of seeing Saturn with a telescope. I should sometime :)

This is not bad at all though. What telescope setup are you using? I have viewed saturn through a telescope with a 3in aperture, i could make out the rings but it was No where near as good as this.

Thanks. Its a skywatcher 8" newtonian reflector (F5.9) which isn't ideal for planetary stuff (maksutov cassegrains give a better view), Saturn does appear much smaller in the eyepiece but the same detail is visible.
This was taken with a hacked up webcam, using a DSLR doesn't work because the planets appear tiny in the image with low resolution when cropped. The smaller webcam sensor with higher pixel density gives a more magnified image, that's why it appears so large :).

Jupiter is great too if you ever get the chance to have a look, its much bigger and easier to see details. Spins really fast too!
