It really depends on how far away you are and how you view the universe.

The information is only getting to this point in space now, so it is like it is happening now.

    uh kind of i guess lol, If you want the fun thought of it. it really isn't happening now. If i had the tech to make a wormhole to this location in space, That star or the remnants would be gone, Why? because it isn't happening now. you are seeing the remnants of light that took so long to travel. You should look into how time really works though most don't have a rational ideal of what time really is.
