RE: THE BEST FORMULA FOR SOLVING QUESTIONS ON FARADAY'S LAWS OF ELECTROLYSIS

in #science7 years ago

Hello @jerryg-special, instead of taking pictures of all the formula, you can always type it here.

For instance, the last thing you took a picture of can also be written as shown below

Cu2+(aq) + 2e- → Cu(s)

n, number of moles of electrons = 2

mass of copper depoited= 2.70g

Q=?

F= 96500c/mol

molar mass of copper= 63.5g/mol

Thus, 2.70g= 63.6/2 x 96500 x Q

Cross multiply

2.70 x 2 x 96500= 63.5 x Q

Q= (2.70 x 2 x 96500)/ 63.5

Q= 8206.3C

Pb2+(aq) + 2e- → Pb(s)

n, number of electrons = 2

Q= 8206.3C

Molar mass of lead = 207g/mol

F= 96500C/mol

Thanks.... I prefer to take those pictures while using the formula rather than using markdown. Once again thanks for your observation
