In my previous post i wrote about the correlation between science and the bible, use this link to check it out CLICK

Today we are going to learn about the characteristic of the earth and why the continents drifted away from each other.

EARTH ROTATION & REVOLUTION
The earth rotates and revolves around the sun, it completes its rotation around the sun once every 24 hours and its revolution around the sun is completed once in every 365 days.

RESULT OF EARTH ROTATION & REVOLUTION

1: Day and night
As the earth rotates its movement causes day and night in the sense that those facing the sun we experience day light and as it continues its movement we will eventually shift away from the sun and experience darkness. To illustrate emerging you have a ball placed on your table and you flash a touch light on it, will all the part of the ball experience the light? the answer is no, the ball is an opaque body and the light can not penetrate to the other side.

2: Change of season
Earth rotation leads to change of season, this changes happens as the earth travels around the sun each year. Summer happens in the hemisphere closer to the Sun, and winter happens in the hemisphere away from the Sun

3:Earthquake
The movement of the earth causes earthquake, those living in a soft plate zone (under ground rocks are called plates) experience shift of plate which eventual leads to earthquakes. i.e the underground rock tends to move away from each other.

4: Solar eclipse
When the earth rotates and get to the point it intercepts the moon and the sun it leads to solar eclipse

5:Continental drifting
It has been proven by the scientist that African as a continent move away from Atlantic ocean 1cm per year and same is applicable to other continents which gradually move away from each other yearly, this is as a result of earth rotation.
see images below

Initially a giant continent existed called Pangaea, before the continents started moving away from each other

       PROOFS OF CONTINENTAL DRIFTING

LIVING ANIMALS: The existing animals found today at the edge of the continents found closer to each other are the same.

FOSSIL PLANTS: The dead remains of plants found at edge of the continent are discovered to be the same

FOSSIL ANIMALS: The dead remains of Animals found at edge of the continent are discovered to be the same

JIGSAW PUZZLE: All of us know the puzzle game, when scatter the game your work is just to fix it. The continent moves away from each other, when you look at the shape of Africa and Europe you can fix it together perfectly.

Much Love from @theheralds.

This is educating. Keep it up

Thanks dear

I love it,the earth and the Bible

Hope you enjoyed the article

Hello @theheralds

You dish out good works but wrongfully advertised and tagged. It is important to always use #nigeria no matter what you are writing on. Next time you write this type of educational posts, use #steemiteducation as one of the tags. Thanks

@eurogee

thanks for this information @eurogee

Lovely, upvoted

thanks for being here

Nice one @theheralds , i just learnt something

Am glad your guys read it

You know i will always read

I like this educating piece @theheralds. Never knew our continents were drifting away from each other. Wow! So does it mean the earth is expanding?? I know that scientists have proven that the universe is expanding but I dont know about the earth.

JIGSAW PUZZLE: All of us know the puzzle game, when scatter the game your work is just to fix it. The continent moves away from each other, when you look at the shape of Africa and Europe you can fix it together perfectly.

I have always wondered this too. I have noticed the resemblance between the African and European continents on the world map. Didnt know it was a documented fact...

Are you a geographer?

am happy you understood it, i am a geographer and geologist

Though i did not make much from this post am glad people understood it. Thank you everyone

Hello there @theheralds! :D I found this post really informative.. It's amazing how the earth can change along time. ^^ I hope it changes for the better.. haha ^^ Thanks a lot for sharing... ^^

@tegoshei thanks for reading, i will follow you show some love too

that is really true. Just wandering how things would like today if the plates is not drifting.

thanks for reading @ekavieka

Very educative thanks for this post

thanks dear

Good job! I especially like how you reference one article on the other using links. I read your thank you post and decided to check this one out.

thanks bro, i wish to keep in touch am following you now
