Interesting. I used to store my DECT house phone base station in a stainless steel pan! It still worked but the emissions were massively reduced. Wifi in the house is pretty much essential these days, but it's worth getting a microwave radiation detector so that you can work out where the hotspots in the house are and arrange your life around them to minimise exposure.
That's interesting that is still worked, maybe it used the steel pan as an antenna. I have given thought to wiring the router with ethernet cable and switching off the WIFI, but what a pain to lay the cabling. I have also checked out power line ethernet, I might be going with that. Using a MW detector is a good idea.
Yeah, my mum thought I was a nutcase. The signal wasn't as good, but I live in a small house so it wasn't a problem. On another interesting note, it's right underneath where I sleep on the floor below, I had to plug it in to make a couple of landline calls, and forgot to unplug it. I'd not been sleeping well at all for a few days when I noticed it was still plugged in. Unplugged it and what do you know, I slept fine last night.
Bet your mother would think I was a nutcase also. lol
