n the UK, Viagra pills can be purchased to treat men's erectile dysfunction directly from pharmacies without requiring a doctor's prescription.
The decision was issued by the Health and Medical Products Control Agency based on active opinions in the community.
The pharmacist decides, according to the new instructions, if adult men over the age of 18 can take these pills without harm.
Pfizer, which manufactures the Viagra pills, hopes to supply its pharmacy products in Britain by the spring of 2018.
Experts say that providing these pills on a large scale will help men, who find it difficult to visit a doctor, about ED.
The Health and Medical Products Control Agency bet that this decision would prevent men from buying pills that are not monitored through illegal websites.
"This decision carries a message of men's health," said Mick Foy, of the Health and Medical Products Control Agency.
"Erectile dysfunction is a major handicap for men," he said. "It's important that they get proper and useful treatment. They do not have to look for fake drugs that are sold on the Internet and what can cause them harm."
Pharmacists decide if the treatment is appropriate, and can also advise clients about erectile dysfunction, drug use, possible side effects, and if they need to consult a doctor.
The sale of Viagra pills is prohibited for the following categories:
People with severe heart disease or who are at risk of cardiovascular disease
Patients with hepatic cirrhosis
Patients with kidney failure
Men who take medications that are not suitable for ingestion with Viagra pills
Men who buy Viagra are advised to swallow a pill an hour before sexual intercourse, but no more than one pill a day should be taken.
Erection problems
According to statistics from the Public Health Authority in Britain that most men fail sometimes erections or maintain it longer.
This is usually due to factors such as fatigue, stress, anxiety, or drinking large amounts of alcohol.
The FDA advises men to consult a physician if erectile dysfunction persists, as it may mask other health problems.
The Health and Medical Products Control Agency received 47 consultations on Viagra, 33 of which were for the sale of ED pills without consulting a doctor, and one in which the response was "not sure".
She opposed 13 Viagra sales without consulting a doctor, eight of whom were pharmacists. Some have raised concerns that some customers may not state their health status in order to obtain grain. Others raised concerns about the risks of drug misuse or overuse.
The agency based its decision that the benefits of licensing the sale of Viagra without consulting the doctor more than the potential risks.
Denise Knowles, a psychologist, notes that taking a pill is not a solution to marital problems.
"Many of the people I spoke with have a misconception that pills give them erectile strength and increase their sexual desire, but they do not increase their skills," she says. "They are not magic pills to solve the couple's problems."
