I'm a laggard in the crypto world.
I joined Steemit nearly two years ago, earlier than quite a lot of people, but not as early as many whales. I don't gamble. I don't game. I don't trade. I have always ignored the new developments as I couldn't be bothered to understand them. Entering the crypto world was even more of a challenge. I simply can't deal with the the six to eight digits behind the decimal. Coins? Tokens? HODL? Seems like people can't spell.
FIRST STEP
Eventually it got to a stage where you can't escape from all this. You get sucked in subconsciously. First was opening a Bittrex account last year before Steemit went south . I withdrew some earnings from Steemit, bought a few other coins and forgot about my account. Not sure if I'm up or down now. Knowing me, probably down. Next came the Byteball craze. Then there were a couple of ERC20 wallets because some airdrops said you needed that. I can't access one of them now.
Last week I decided to link my Steemit account to Snax. But not before I was cursing everyone else posting shit posts to do that. I guess if you can't beat them, you gotta join them. Now I have another wallet sitting in my computer.
THE NEXT STEP
The latest step was Steem Engine a few days ago. Since that was launched, I know a lot of communities have issued their own tokens. To me this is all imaginary money. Somehow, someone managed to generate a value into a 'thing' and many believe and support this value. I'm starting to understand why the general public can't get their head around Bitcoin and crypto currency now.
Babies eventually grow up. You learn, albeit in little steps, albeit slower than others. I learnt about what Steem Engine is about. I learnt about the gains made by some. I imagine there are losses lurking somewhere around in the back that no one talks about. I learnt about new developments, projects, and their potentials. I graduated from little steps and took a plunge.

THE PLUNGE
I made my first trade on Steem Engine. It wasn't that difficult after all. Now I hold a small amount of Triple A tokens for a new movie and video review platform to be launched soon. It's just a small amount, but it's a start. Remember, I was a laggard in the crypto world.
Now, just need to wait for the token and Steem to go to the moon!

I came 2 years ago and still not a whale because I bought much of my Steem on $1.5-2.7 price. I don’t regret as I still believe the greatest project will get a price of $20> and more. Children will like it more because they are more open-minded

sometimes we we can't escape it. I guess is something keeps on floating in front of you all the time, you can't ignore it
