I can't get out of my head.
I can't seem to figure out how to fix all the troubles we seem to be having in our little household this year. I mean, for us, 2018 has been one of those 'when it rains, it pours' sort of years.
Without going into all the 'whoa is me' details...
Life got shitty this summer after we had to say good bye to our precious Moxie.
Here we are giving up our beloved Iceland this year, to save money.
Instead, we decided to visit Cleveland for a few days.
But so many life altering decisions were made before the giant vet bill associated with letting go of our baby, that I am constantly in my head. Hoping to figure out a way to make it all better.
This all has me thinking of my favorite sculpture.
Spring. By Einar Jonsson
There is a museum in Reykjavik that we have never actually gone into, but outside there is a sculpture garden that is open and free. We stop there on every trip and everything about this piece speaks to me.
I've blogged about it in the past, but not here, I think.
Last year, I took a 360 degree video around it, as well, even though I have many stills to swoon over already.
So, it is not spring...we've had full on winter temp days already, here in New England. Snow in the mountains.
But just one look at this glorious work of art and I am ready to dig deep down and figure shit out.
And just for fun...here's a shot of the Northern Lights we saw when we were in Borgarnes in 2015. I had to edit it a bit just to get the green a little brighter. I am by, no means, a night photographer!
Clean. So cool.
Well hello again, we have not spoken in a while. I always enjoy reading your posts. Iceland...now that seems like a dream vacation. I must put that on my bucket list. I too am having a shit of a year. However, when I switch on the news half the world is on the same train. Ahh such is life. Now if you want a short vacation, do pop up to Seabright and we will have a nice seafood meal and discuss our positives and our negatives. lol Please take care and talk soon.
It is true, we do seem to be in the same sinking ship sometimes...lol?
I am eager for a Nova Scotia trip! You take care, too.
Sounds like that trip to Cleveland backfired a bit. It is an interesting sculpture. Do you know who made it or what the creators intent was with it?
It is by the Icelandic sculptor Einar Jonsson, but I do not know his intent. I just know it calls to me with its detail and the images it stirs in me.
Cool I will have to google him,.
Whoa, how have I missed all these posts?! Well, I have been a bit distracted but good one and I love that you got your needlepoint elephant shared!
Oh dear...I know all about missing posts! when you (meaning I) log on only every couple of days you miss a LOT!! :(
