A few figurative sculpture - ice sculpture

in #sculpture4 years ago

I'll bunch up a few of the figurative sculptures I had to do here. First is Louis Hébert, who is considered to be the first Canadian apothecary. There's now a inn named after him.

This one is for a restaurant called "Les Colocs" that would translate to "The Roommates". You know, that sloppy guy who would play videogames all day and leave dirty dishes all over the living room. Sadly, there was a time when I could identify to some degree to that guy...

This last one was for a dairy store.

Amazing! Do you use special tools to avoid shattering the ice?

The tools have to be as sharp as possible. With a dull tool, you will just bash against the ice instead of shaving it, increasing the odds of breaking it.
