SECRET WRITER: How People Steal Money From State Parks
Okay, here it is. Fifteen years ago I worked at a state park, I'll leave the name of the park out of this post since it's a secret. However, I will say the park surrounded a lake. I worked there for three years. The first couple of years I was known as what is called a "Greenie". Basically, a Greenie walks around the park from 8:00am to 4:00pm picking up garbage from the ground with a large nail attached to a stick. Then you would slide the nail against the garbage pals around the park to dispose of it. I would also clean some nasty bathrooms. Let me tell you, the men's bathroom was bearable. The woman's bathroom on the other hand, was so gross! Woman I'm sorry at least try to sit on the seat when you trying to do a number two. Anyway back to the story....
I had heard from people that the cashiers that worked at the state park were stealing money. The next year I told them I didn't want to be a Greenie anymore, I wanted to be a cashier. (I didn't steal money) It was the craziest job ever. Cashiers would sit in a booth by themselves for hours charging people to park. It cost $6 at the time to park and patrons would get a ticket showing they paid. Sometimes people would come and if they didn't take a ticket the cashier would pocket the cash. So basically, if you go to a state park make sure you take the ticket for parking so the cashier doesn't steal your money.
Not only were the cashiers stealing tons of money, especially on July 4th, they were smoking marijuana. One cashier would go on break and he would drive around the park to all the different cashier booths smoke them out on a huge bong. Sometimes they would bring out blunts. The cashiers seemed to enjoy when they could smoke marijuana while sitting in a booth stealing money. We have criminals working for the government!
All Good Things Must Come To An End
Even though the managers were stealing too, other managers were onto the criminals. They would hide in the woods with binoculars and watch the cashiers to see if they were stealing money. They caught a few people stealing and they had to deal with the park police. It was like a big sting operation at a state park. One time this kid was $100 short when he went to go hand in his money for the day. He tried to say, "the wind blew it away". Five minutes later he comes back with a $100 bill saying I found it! Meanwhile I'm pretty sure he stole like $500.
Eventually the summer ended, people were done stealing. I doubt it's still going on today, but just keep this story in the back of your mind.
Sounds like the government needs more random drug testing. But, then again, those tend to be easy to skirt around.
Yeah, well don't worry the Gov't picks the most trust worthy people.
Haha! Liked your funny post! And that CAT! OMG! gives a whole new meaning to cat burglar lol! Too funny😂😂😂
The funniest part is it isn't a joke.
another great example of why the government should not privatize public land.
