After a record-breaking two-year mission, the Air Force's secret space plane is back on Earth.
The X-37B landed at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida early Sunday. He is silent about what the aircraft did in orbit after boarding a SpaceX rocket in 2017. The 780-day mission sets a new endurance record for a reusable test vehicle.
It resembles a spacecraft but is a quarter size at 29 feet.
Officials say that this latest mission successfully fulfilled its objectives. Experiments were carried out from the Air Force Research Laboratory.
It was the fifth spaceflight by such a vehicle. No 6 are planned next year with another launch of Cape Canaveral. According to Air Force Secretary Barbara Barrett, "Each successive mission advances the space capabilities of our country."
Air Force calmed down on which aircraft did in orbit for 780 days.
Officials say the mission fulfilled its objectives.
