you ever see V for vendetta? in the movie this guy takes a girl he likes and he semi tortures her, not anything to bad, his aim really was to make her believe she was going to die and when someone goes through this experience it wakes them up, they realize if they had another chance they would use it more wisely, they think of what they always wanted to do and become, and most importantly they think of the past and how they wish they could change it for the better, how they would never want anything else to go through such suffering especially caused by their own hands, and this changes them. from first hand experience i believe this is the solution to detaching people from their conditioning of being raised with bad values as well as the idea that they are unimportant. it changes what a person thinks matters in life and what doesn't, and this is exactly how it was used in the movie, when she accepted her death it woke her up and she was let go, then she ended up thanking the person who had done this to her.
but this can only happen when one truly accepts their death which most of the time in reality is to late. i know this is fact because it happened to me, i'm no sure if it's possible to imagine your death and accept it without it actually threatening you but i advise all to try their best. i can't stress enough how important this is to achieve a truly clear mind.
I loved that scene in the movie. Only by facing death can we truly appreciate the miracle of life.
