My Review on KeepKey Bitcoin Hard Wallet.

First off the purpose of a hardware wallet is to store private keys offline in a secure environment. Hard wallets provides top-notch security and protects against both physical & virtual theft. It can be used on any computer, even one that’s been infected with malware or targeted by hackers. Think of it as a tiny computer that’s built specifically to store Bitcoin private keys.

In addition to offline storage, KeepKey’s pin code and number randomization makes sure that 1) your wallet is secure from physical theft and 2) that a hacker couldn’t steal bitcoins from your wallet with malware. Watch the video below for an example of the pin protection

The promise of the KeepKey Bitcoin wallet is complete security for your digital currency, It stores your Bitcoin key in its standalone device, and there is no way anyone else can access your key. It has an attractive aluminum finish and large display. There's a button on the top of the device which controls basic commands, and a micro USB port on the bottom to connect KeepKey to your computer. KeepKey comes with a recovery card and sleeve, instructions, and a micro USB cable. The way KeepKey works is simple, but effective.

I use the Trezor hardware wallet, also a good one, contains almost the same functions. I think now after the Bitfinex hack, more people want to store their bitcoins and other crypto currencies securely themselves and a hardware wallet is a perfect device for this purpose.

Absolutely! Hard Wallets is the way for me for storing large amounts:)

Great and valuable post. Thank you. The cold storage process definitely needs more attention. I like to think of it has the "Cash" side of crypto storage. Paper when paper makes sense. Your review is very helpful for individuals that need to protect their assets. I kinda wish that KeepKey allowed for SSH key (FIDO) and password storage too.

I just did a review on Ledger Nano S, comparing it to the likes Trezor and HW.1. I only mentioned KeepKey and didn't go into much details becasue I never owned one. May I add a link to this article from my post?

@arcaneinfo, will you be doing a review of the Ledger Nano S, and the Trezor? If so, I think it would be a very interesting comparison, given that more people will be taking the security of their private keys more seriously after the BitFinex hack...

I agree, many are now being more aware of how safe you need to be with secure offline wallets. I may do another wallet review soon. Thanks for Comment!
