I was going to just resteem a post here from @jrswab, but it seems like Steemit doesn't allow resteeming of old posts. That's unfortunate. So here is the link instead:
Great overview of some things we can do to protect ourselves online. Security is a complex topic but this is a big deal, guys. We are all making money here. Maybe not a lot, but with SBD and STEEM both shooting up, even a few upvotes can translate into some money. We are all potential targets of hackers. Take this stuff very seriously.
If time allows I will write more about passwords specifically, or maybe I'll just resteem JR if he beats me to the punch. Either way, look for that post soon. But for the time being, go read the one I link to above.
Don't forget that if you see a post you want to resteem so as to have it for yourself, but it is too old, then just use your browser Bookmarks facility. I opened a Steemit folder and put them all in there - as I will do with this one.
hey i am upvoting your post also i am following you because i think you wrote a good post which is valuable for everyone, I am making a community where everyone earn steemit by upvoting each other, you can join my community by following me
good idea .. I will read it later.. you are right we need to be able to protect ourselves.. knowledge is power.. ever wonder what happens with old posts.. where does those funds go when they are upvoted?
I switched over to Linux ever since I first started dealing with all things block-chain...stay away from windows guys, live in peace.
Thanks for the Link, @dbooster! 100% upvoted and followed
