Self Defense

Do we need a weapon for self-defense and home protection?
Well, opinions may vary. But a fact is that a lot of weird things are happening out there. So let's get this straight.

The 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. It’s simple as that. But some people believe that this is no more necessary because this law was created in different circumstances a long time ago.

There are different versions of its origins and purpose. Some say that the 2nd Amendment has its foundations in protecting white slave owners from slave revolt or slave resistance. Other people believe that the purpose of this law was to organize an armed militia for whenever the government needs them they were already armed up and ready for duty. Because the government did not have enough money back then to arm up every person, they created this law so the people could be legally armed by themselves and “ready to go” in order to stop invasions, participate in the Law Enforcement and some other stuff like that. These people also say that this right comes from the England of 1181, which required the people to be armed in service of the King, for whatever he wanted. Who knows? I don’t doubt it.

But we can’t forget about the main purpose of the law today, the one that I want to focus in this writing; the natural right to self-defense.

Do you think this law is necessary, obsolete?
Do we need to own a firearm?
Is there any other way to protect ourselves?
Are we really safe at home or in the streets?
Let me tell you that sh*t can happen in just seconds, and the police is not always going to be on time. The truth is that we all can be victims of robbery, murder, rape, aggravated assault, carjacking, kidnapping or some other crazy stuff.

According to most statistics, Alaska’s violent crime rate is the highest in the whole nation. Murders are not as common in Alaska as they are in other places like California (which has the most reported annual murders followed by Texas) but rape and aggravated assault are highly prevalent. Actually, Alaska’s rape rate nearly triples the national rate. Pretty crazy.

See, I don’t live in Alaska or California, but crime is everywhere and it doesn’t look to stop anytime soon, and that’s a fact.
Think about this for a second. If you have the opportunity and capacity to save your life or the life of your loved ones, would you do something to stop the threat? I don’t think there is space for NO as an answer.

home defense

We all remember the mass shooting at the Orlando night club. 49 people died and 53 people ended up wounded. It was a really sad day for all of us. But not all of us remember what happened 2 weeks after that attack. There was another shooting in another night club. A guy began firing into a crowd of people outside of the Playoffz nightclub in SC, but he was unsuccessful in killing any of his victims because he was stopped by a Concealed Handgun License Holder who puts a bullet into the bad guy’s leg. Three people were shot, and one of the victims was the one who stop the threat. The victim acted in self-defense and has a concealed weapons permit, so he’s not being charged. Actually, he is a true hero who saved who knows how many lives.

My opinion is that we do have to be armed and ready to protect ourselves, our families and our properties. But, that’s just my opinion.

Crisis is a huge factor related to crime. Is proved that when the times are not good enough, people become desperate, intolerable, CRAZY! And America is definitely not in its best time right now.
So I don’t going to sit and wait to see what happens, to see if I or my family will become part of these statistics. So hoping to never have to use my firearm against anyone, I will stop any threat I can to defend and protect myself or my family. 10mm hole in the forehead. It’s easy stuff. I also rather be wrong than dead so.

There are a lot of free safety weapon courses people can take advantage of. Is not like we are going to buy a weapon and forget about safety. Safety is first, and is pretty basic once you get into it. There is also some self-defense civil protection plans out there to cover your back in case you need it. My self-defense protection covers up to $1,000,000 in legal fees, and I only paid less than $400 a year.
Don’t get me wrong; I am not a violent person at all, actually my friends used to call me “Gandhi” back in the days due to my peacefully mindset. But when it comes to my security or my family’s, my Glock 40 will be ready for anyone who try to fu*k with us. Sorry.

So there’s that. In the end is going to be your choice to be or not be ready. It’s all about make the right decision, and be prepared. We have to say though, weapons are not for everyone. But hey, I guarantee is not difficult to learn and be responsible about it. I know a 70 years old lady here in Wyoming who opens carry everywhere she goes. So yeah, is not difficult at all.

So think about it, talk to your relatives, study your options, learn about it and make a decision. Some people will say that we don’t need firearms, but the thing is, that we don’t need criminals either, and there they are.

I feel like everybody have access to guns, even the mentally unstable and the medicated people. So if so many crazy people have them, there should be a balanced amount of good people with guns as well. It was a nice read! thx for sharing!
