STEEMIT ACCOUNT THEFT THREAT (***MY EXPERIENCE***)

Days ago i wanted to redeem my steemit account and issue a withdraw NO tranfer, but i notice something that should be necessarilly not an issue or a problem. saying

YOUR STEEMIT ACCOUNT SECURITY SETTING. HAVE BEEN REDUCED FIVE DAYS AGO.

So PRIMITIVE of me i went on and ignore. a null it was. but what can i possibly do, ignorance kills a cat logged in my account and i saw what i wanted to see but ... the issue is when i tried to redeem the figures...hahahahahaha...Dialog box hmmmmm asked me to login and complete my task ....i said okay, input my username and password...it seemed awkward when it say wrong password........what is it, not correct or what..either way I tried it again and again..anyways had to search the internet for any complaint like mine. God helped me and i found these reassuring post
***dummies guide to basic steemit account security + account recovery guide! must read for steemit users!...read and went back to my account and follow the procedures and issue account recovery....good a thing steemit.com came to my aid ...reset my account password in less than 4HR ...thanks @dan, @ned and all those who have try to keep steemit save.

must read articles @noisy,@pfunky, @jerrybanfield who have made elaborate post on basic steemit guide for all steemit users...go read and learn. but if you are too lazy to go to another tab..just read these little one that i have learned from these top users.

CONDITIONS FOR ACCOUNT RECOVERY

YOUR PASSWORD MUST BE EITHER LOST OR CHANGED
YOU MUST STILL HAVE YOUR MASTER KEY OR OWNER KEY
ACCOUNT RECOVERY MUST BE DONE OR COMPLETED WITHIN 30 DAYS FROM THE DAY YOUR PASSWORD WAS CHANGED
YOUR MUST HAVE ACCESS TO THE ORIGINAL EMAIL USED IN CREATING

GO TO WALLET->PASSWORD TAB->RECOVER ACCOUNT OPTION here you will enter your username and old password or owner key
INPUT THE EXACT EMAIL USE ON THE DAY OF ACCOUNT CREATION..wrong email will or delay these process or probably not work.
SEND AND WAIT FOR STEEMIT SUPPORT REPLY @ YOUR EMAIL....please submit these request before the end of 30 days.
@ your email you will recieve a link from steemit.com follow it and complete account recovery
INPUT YOUR STEEMIT USERNAME AND RECENT PASSWORD
BEGIN ACCOUNT RECOVERY

USE INCOGNITO TABS ON BROWSERS
USE PRIVATE POSTING KEYS TO SURF STEEMIT.COM
USE APP BUILT BY @good-karma ON MOBILE
USE BETTER PROXY FOR YOUR BROWSERS
USE GOOD ANTI-VIRUS AND ANTI-MALWARE SOFTWARE
use active key for login purposes and other function like upvote, comment
use posting key for making your steemit posts and comment

use active key for login purposes and other function like upvote, comment
use posting key for making your steemit posts and comment

The active key should only be used for important functions like transferring funds, updating your profile, or voting for witnesses.

As long as you back up your original password, the posting key should be used to log in day-to-day. This minimizes the risk to your account when there's the potential to transmit your keys to the wrong place on the web.
