Good browser should be modular, privacy focused and functionally capable; why should we be forced to choose 2 of 3.

If you have a specific comment relating to your choice of browser and why it stands out please say so;
I personally am looking for a browser that favours security over function.
Currently i am using Google Chrome, Epic, IE11 and Comodo.
I use chrome main and brave
never heard of brave; do you recommend checking it out?
To Late: i like the look of this; block tracekr cookies and pixels; inbuilt ad block
I used to use aviator a few years back before it lost support; it implemented really good features right out of the box; like iframe redirections to internal ip addresses, tracker pixels, cache deleted after every termination, ad blocks etc. brave seems similar. i will have to look into it some more
yes. it's beta BUT: many privacy options, based on chromium. "fair ads" with bitcoin integration soonish
installed on my phone; will give it a test run :) cheers
I just started using it an hour ago. Soooo clean and uncluttered. Steemit works fine so far. I think I may have a new daily driver. With Windows Anniversary upgrade due Aug 2, I should be able to browse with a dark theme using Brave. Crossing fingers.
Google Chrome
I use Firefox. I used to use Chrome, but they track you too much and I found it slow (because they are constantly reporting usage statistics back to Google).
Yes they are all crap from my experience; i would be happy to pay for a browser instead of pay with my data; i don't want tracking and i want a constant effort on security. The big names atleast have reputation to uphold and the money to back the dev's but steeling your data and tracking your habits seems to be their main driver :(
Yes, There are a couple other good options.
I quit using google chrome because it tracks too much of what you do and adds it to your google account history, it was caught installing audio listening software in the background, and installs a google update service that is hard to get rid of.
Firefox has also become bloated with crap and tracking software, and crashes too much for me.
The decent alternatives are:
Palemoon - https://www.palemoon.org/ - it is a fork of the firfox code that leaves out a lot of the tracking and adware, and is much faster than regular firefox now.
Waterfox Portable - https://www.waterfoxproject.org/downloads - another open source firefox fork, but this is portable. To get rid of cookies and weird browser settings changes, you can just delete it and uncompress a new install in seconds.
The most security and privacy conscious browser is Tor Browser. https://www.torproject.org
~But it does not work well with steemit.~
If you really want safe browsing, ask the steemit website guys to test Tor Browser and make sure it works.
Edit: Fixed now! You can login safely now, and posting works. Just remember to disable noscript to post
Audio listening.... hmmm that's concerning; i know its all the rage these days. i already have a sticker for my webcam and i have just disabled my inbuilt mic.. will look into the other browsers you suggested. thanks for sharing :)

What about Brave @steempower ? Have you tried it?
I made a review of it here: https://steemit.com/techreview/@millen/review-brave-a-safer-and-faster-browser-set-to-change-the-advertisement-industry-with-micropayments
