The right approach to self-development!

in #self-development4 years ago

When it comes to self-development one common thing pops into our mind. And that is self-development is nothing tough, we all can do that. But the truth is it's way harder than we thing. It's because we don't take it seriously in most of the cases.

Just think about there are so many free programs online and even offline, we still go for professional help like on training institutions, yoga and meditation centers. This is because it's really hard to push ourselves to do better all by ourselves. But this doesn't mean self-development never works. Rather it's actually very necessary to put effort so we can improve gradually.

Let's see how we can know if we are doing it right!

  • See if you are clear about what you are doing.

Be clear about what you are doing and what you are looking for. Maybe you are working on something really hard but the result may not be your goal. Like maybe you are developing a new skill but then you divert your career and it becomes less useful. So clear about our goal is very necessary. And to do that we should ask ourselves some basic questions.

  • See if you are doing this for you.

Sometimes peer pressure, social expectation let us try many things. But at the end of the day, you will find these will not add much value to your life. So whatever you do, do it for yourself.

There are countless things that we should be concerned about when we try to develop ourselves on our own. Like if we are avoiding something more important, if there is something more helpful than trying it all by ourselves. However, I believe is putting a little intention to do it right will help to actually do it in the right way.
