How to Take a Pause in Life and Still Achieve Great Things
Have you ever come to a point in your life where nothing makes sense anymore, and you feel like you're just falling into a rut? You have this constant anxiety telling you that you should get your life together, yet even getting out of bed is the most challenging thing to do in the morning. You may constantly feel like you're trying to pursue something and feel like you've already exerted a lot of energy, but you haven't achieved anything.
Yes, I have experienced this many times in my life.
I wrote this blog to share what I learned about the importance of taking a break in life. Some of you may not have the means to pause life, for you have jobs and families to feed. With all that, there are still ways that you can pause and reassess your current life.
This blog is for you if you are struggling and feel like your life is stuck in a rut.
What is a Pause in life mean?
A pause in life is a break from life, a break from the routine, a break that refreshes. It gives you back your energy, your clarity, and your creativity. It is not just about taking time away from work and other commitments. It's about reflecting on what you have achieved and want to achieve in the future. It's about thinking about what you want out of life.
A pause in life can be as short as one day or last for weeks or months. The length is up to you, and it should be something that suits your needs at this point in your life.
One of the most common reasons for pausing is to improve one's mental health. If you are feeling anxious, stressed, or depressed, taking a pause can help you get back on track.
The first point is to clarify what you want to do or achieve and how you want to go about it.
There are many ways to take a break, but one big way is to create a DOWNTIME session in your daily routine.
Downtime is essential for our mental health. It can help us feel more refreshed and relaxed.
To create downtime in our daily routine, we must make time for it. We should start by disconnecting from social media or at least take a break from it every now and then. When on social media, we often compare ourselves to others and believe they have better lives than us. This will make us feel bad about ourselves and not give us the energy to do anything else but stay online.
Here are some ways to get started
Step 1: Social Media Detox - many of us find this step difficult. Unknowingly, we are already addicted to our gadgets. We fill every second of our lives with fancy and unrealistic content on social media. You may allow yourself to be on social media for no more than 1-2 hours per day.
Step 2: Start organizing things - may that be your to-do list or your drawer for socks? Start the habit of taking 10-30 minutes to tidy up your place before going to bed. Trust me, it will make a big difference in life waking up to a neat and organized home. Also, take at least five minutes to write on your daily planner at night, so you don't have to wonder what you need to do or accomplish in the morning.
Step 3: Allow quiet and alone time - Reflecting is surprisingly easy when you have nothing to occupy your mind. Carve out at least 30 minutes to an hour per day without doing anything but daydreaming. No phones nearby, no music, no books, just yourself and your total presence. If you have a family in the house, ask them to allow you quiet time alone and not to disturb you. Sit on your porch or under a tree doing nothing.
Step 4: Keep a journal - write everything that occupies your mind. Jot down ideas that you have thought of. Draw the life map you have come up with. Just be creative, literally.
Step 5: Proceed with your life plans - Go slow and take your time. Remember to take one step at a time to avoid relapse. You don't want to fall into the same rut. So, keep the momentum going.
Why Taking a Pause in life Is Important for All of Us.
In conclusion, pausing life is essential for all of us. It gives us time to recharge and recuperate. It lets us take time off our busy schedules and put ourselves first. It lets us take time to reflect on what we want in life and what our priorities are. It helps us cherish the present and let go of the past. When you're ready to take on the world again, you'll do so with confidence that you'll create enormous progress this time.
You don't have to take all the steps at once. There's a chance that you'll build resistance to doing the steps and might not do any of them at all. However, if you are brave and persistent enough to start making a change in your life, then go for it. Start applying them tonight. Let me know how it went. Leave a comment below.
My message to you, my dear.😘
Never limit yourself to the good things you can have in life. Suppose you feel stuck right now and lost in what you want to do. Find the kind of kickstart that you need to move forward.
Imagine this.
YOU HAVE THE POWER TO REWRITE YOUR OWN LIFE STORY AND CARVE YOUR SCULPTURE.
Figuratively speaking, all you need is a pen and a notebook to rewrite your story and a sharp chisel to carve your life sculpture. What you just have to do is, pick them up and start working on yourself.
And before you know it.
YOU WILL BE IN AWE AT YOUR VERY OWN MASTERPIECE.
My heart is full of appreciation.🤗
I am excited to be part of the HIVE community and looking forward to getting to know all of you and hoping to build professional relationships.
Thank you for your support! 😍

This is a lesson we all have to learn sooner or later, otherwise life is going to force us to learn it the hard way. It's an important message and you have a lot of good arguments here, but to reach the right audience and help others learn, next time I suggest Self Improvement community for this type of topics, instead of your blog.
We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post.
Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide. I also put together a list of communities, which is not complete, there are much more communities on Hive, but it will help you get started.
Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.
I'm also hoping I can see you be more active and engage more with other users too as engagement on Hive is key.
Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse!
