It is amazing how understanding, encouraging, loving, and forgiving we can be when it comes to other people. And yet, we are so quick to judge, diminish, reject, even bully our own selves. We do so in the way we think, behave, and talk to ourselves. And when dealing with our own feelings and emotions we act like they don’t matter that much. Instead we pile them up in a compartment in our head that we barely visite.
But, what if we were more patient with ourselves. What if our self talk was more positive. One can only imagine how that could boost one’s self-esteem.
What can we do to change that? Is there a cure? If so, what could it be?
Look no further, my friend. There’s actually a cure. In theory, it is very simple, but its application not so much. Because we’ve been condition all of our lives to do the opposite.
So, here it is, it’s called “SELF-LOVE”. I guess right now you might be saying: “but I love myself”. To which I reply, then why does the way you treat yourself prove otherwise?
The kind of self-love I’m referring to is the kind that will make people call you selfish, self absorbed, or egocentric. When in actuality, your only sin is putting yourself first in everything you do.
Here are some ideas you can work with:
•Relationships wise, you should avoid everybody that doesn’t bring value of any kind into your life. I’m talking family and friends and soulmates.
•You set up boundaries that are not to be crossed no matter the circumstances.
•On the physical side, you make sure you eat good and exercise regularly. Because just like faith, love is an active verb, its demonstation requires action. So, show love to the body you live in by taking care of it.
•Make sure that your own happiness comes first before any materialistic things or work opportunities. Happiness may be self generated, but try working for a horrible employer or having exorbitant amount of debts and watch your happiness engine running dry.
Those three simple ideas will make a big difference in anyone’s life. After all, aren’t we all struggling with self love?
Well deserved!

Thanks. It’s something I’m trying to figure out myself, so I thought I’d share.
