Learning to Enact a Life Balance

Many frustrations assail us in our daily lives if we are most people. The question is, can we make peace with them? Each of us has our own way, but can we learn to deal with the stressors that frequently come upon us on a regular basis?

When you are able to accept things in life, you become stronger. You find a way to make a change. Being in command can enable you to see the bigger picture with all of its scope and perspective and this can give you all the impetus you need to change your life for the better. What’s more, you’ll discover things about yourself you never knew. But first you must accept that you are in a rut, admit that you are in a hole, come to terms with it.

At first it can be very sad. This is similar to the process of grief that happens to many people suffering over the death of a loved one. First there was denial, then depression. Afterwards, you could possibly feel quite enraged over the situation you are facing, and as you probably know, that is another stage of grief. You could also find yourself bargaining that you’ll change some behavior so that everything will magically return back to normal. But at some point, you will have reached acceptance. Acceptance is a wonderful precept, because with it, you know where you stand. You can shirk all the negative messages you were taught and begin to think for yourself.

Thinking for yourself starts with being your own influence and it doesn’t stop there. At some point, you’re going to have to decide what you want with your life and how you’re really going to get it. If you want to have good health or a long life – you need to take care of your body. If you want money, you may want to consider thinking about what you actually want to do with that money, then consider if the money is more important. You may have another goal in mind. Whatever the case, when you have a goal and you set a clear path toward the goal, all that remains is to follow it. And for that, help may be found elsewhere.
