Most of us get paid for our labor more often than annually. However, this is not historically normal. When the industrial revolution began, farmers became wage earners. Here we are in a society that lives from paycheck to paycheck.
When I began Steemit, I somehow came across the notion that it would require at least one year before my efforts would be rewarded. I still believe this to be a good plan. Many posts reap very small rewards. I expected this truth when I began this effort.
Steemit does not offer residual income. The increased future rewards should be realized from followers and reputation. It seems to work that way for steemians who have been here longer than I.
I am also hoping for an increasing market price for Steem, but my hope is to increase my capacity to produce monthly income. The future is uncertain, but Steemit offers the capacity to earn crypto value. In the future I expect this capacity to branch into various areas of commerce. I hope to employ a cook, a maid, and a gardener using cryptocurrency in the future.
Time will tell. We will all know more in a year.
Here is today's beauty. How long does it take for a tree to grow?
Great piece laying out your future goals. I think sometimes just writing them out is a huge step towards beginning to accomplish them. With that point , light bulb when off for me that I should begin to map out my plan to increase crypto holding as well.
This is the first time I believe we've spoke but I share your hope for Steem to truly take off at some point as the userbase increases and more and more people catch. I want to ensure that I have a good amount of Steem when this time comes and have been investing time, more so in the comments, to get to know other Steemians on a more personal basis and hopefully that will increase my earning potential. I wish you the best of luck in crypto as we move forward and always fun talking to like minded individuals! Steem ON!
nicely said
pleasent work like it
Like any investment (time/money/etc.) it takes time before it matures into something of benefit. Typically speaking.
You are right though that it seems abundantly clear that in order to generate any "income" from a place like this, that requires followers and upvotes from them. You have to be noticed.
That could take weeks, or years.
Hopefully the former. LOL
I agree it does take time but dont give up I am sure we will all reach our goal sometime from another older in the group. We just enjoy the little extra when we get it as pension does not go up. But love writing on steemit keeps my brain going.
I wonder if the spam posts (currently 30:1) are minimised....by us all flagging them...help? (So payouts would be towards contributors and content made just for Steemit)
I agree with some of your thoughts. Crypto will continue to increase.
But, here is where I begin to worry.
The beast will want to continue to live. So he will be looking for anything or anyone to devour.
This is something I have thought about. The blockchain technology is now gaining confidence with nearly every knowledgeable person.
So, the beast could, by law, force us to use his version of blockchain technology.
Just thinking out loud here. But, what do I know?@doctorjohn

Same plan here also doctor. When will steem touch $5 ?
I think you will reach your plan goals. Post payouts are still strange to me, some really good ones may earn pennies and then the ones that you thought would do bad, does good. I think time of day plays a huge part and day of the week as well.
Good thoughts in your post. I to think time is speaking and that for its stoty to become a fruit we must give time the time it needs to grow.
nice post like it
