SEO remains a major concern for marketers when planning their content marketing strategy in 2021. For most marketers, the process is not as complicated as one might think. Time is still an issue and weekly monitoring means that you always have to wait and read some blogs for the latest SEO tips, tricks and trends.
You need to increase leads and website visits. For that, your content marketing plan definitely needs help. Follow these tips for improving Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and see how your website wins at the top of the search results rankings.
1. Publish Relevant Content
Quality content is the number one driver for your SEO strategy and there is no substitute for producing great content. Quality content that is tailor-made for the users you target to increase site traffic, should increase the authority and relevance of your site. Perfect your web writing skills. There are several things to note such as:
A. Use of Keywords
Identify and target specific keyword phrases for each page on your website. Think about how your readers might search for a specific page with search terms such as:
- Tips for mastering agricultural management
- What is biomedical engineering?
- The right way to use Microsoft Excel
- How to cultivate ornamental fish
- How to apply for a scholarship?
- What are skimming and scanning reading techniques?
B. Pay Attention to Keyword Phrases
It can be very difficult for a website's pages to rank high in search results using certain keyword phrases—unless the phrases are very similar. For example, the pages that are likely to rank the highest use keywords like "biomedical engineering jobs" and "biomedical engineering careers."
If you want to rank highest using multiple keyword phrases on your website, you will need to create separate web pages for each keyword phrase you are targeting.
C. Placing Preferred Keywords
Once your keyword phrase is selected on a particular page, consider the following questions:
- Can I use some or all of the keyword phrases in the page URL (using keywords in folders)?
- Can I use some or all of the keyword phrases in the page title?
- Can I use some or all of the keyword phrases in page headings and subheadings?
If you can answer yes to each of these questions, you can improve your ranking in search results. However, keep it organic and user-friendly. For example, you don't need to repeat the word "technique" so that it appears three or more times in the URL or a certain phrase is repeated in the page title and each page title. The content of the content must be clearly readable and provide more benefits for users so that it can increase the ranking of the site's pages.
D. Contents
Outside of page URLs, titles, and titles, content is the most influential in increasing rankings on search pages. Repeat your keyword phrase several times across the page—once or twice in the opening and closing paragraphs, and two to four more times throughout the remaining content.
Don't forget to use bold, italics, heading tags (especially H1), and other emphasis tags to highlight these keyword phrases—but don't overdo them. You still need your language and writing style to read naturally. Never sacrifice good writing for an SEO strategy. The best content is written for users, not for search engines.
E. Link Building
As I have previously reviewed about why backlinks are important for SEO. Links from outside sites are considered by search engines as votes. The more votes you get in your SEO campaign, the more popular and authoritative your site will be. So that it deserves to be promoted in search engine results page rankings.
