As marketers, tools come in handy when dealing with complexities. The advent of mobile friendly websites as a ranking factor in SEO brought about its own set of tools, and the number of tools available for this purpose has only been on the increase.
Mobile searches now dominate the search cosmos based on recent numbers and this has caused mobile advertising budgets to be projected up to $100 billion per year. This statistics show just how important a mobile friendly website is for any business or organization with an online presence.
The ranking signals/factors for mobile differ from the ones for desktop. Mobile searches usually place emphasis on these set of factors
• The number of people searching for your website or products
• The location/s they tend to search from
• How fast your website loads
• Is your interface a mobile friendly one
The tools I will be sharing in this post work to indicate if your website is meeting any of the above criterion.
Google’s Mobile Website Speed Testing Tool
Out of the vast array of SEO tools developed by Google comes this particular one.
The mobile website speed testing tool is a really great tool that does exactly what its name indicates, it tests the mobile version of your website for speed.
Due to its ease-of-use, you can now know how long it takes pages on your website to load when being accessed from mobiles.
This can be done in just a few clicks.
To use this tool all you have to do is log on to its domain (shared in the link above), type in the URL you wish to test in the text box, click the button “Test Now” and voila, your result will be displayed in a matter of seconds.
Google Mobile Friendly Test
Launched in preparation for Google’s algorithm update in 2015, this very simple tool can be used to test for the degree of mobile friendliness on your website.
To use this tool visit this URL, enter the URL to test and click run test.
Google Search Console and Search Analytics
This is a great source for some broad mobile analytics. To use the Google search console for mobile follow the following steps
• Go to the Google Search Console Page
• Check the checkboxes for Clicks, Impressions, CTR and Position
• Click on “Devices”
• Click the No Filter drop-down menu below and select Filter Devices, Mobile
The result of this process would be availability of all information related to the mobile analytics of your site
Screaming Frog
This technical SEO analysis works basically like a crawler. Upon calling it, it will crawl and analyze your website to check for some technical lapses.
From the mobile point of view Screaming Frog can help shape your SEO strategy by doing the following
• Providing a medium to measure your technical SEO performance
• Highlight areas where your site performance is lacking
• Analyze you website for the presence of certain key SEO elements
Lovely tutorial but a pictorial would have made a difference... Novices like me don't even know jack of what you're relating. Lol. Reason why a pictorial would have been a better option. Meanwhile don't give up in steemit journey. Its worth it at the end.
Thanks for the heads up ma'am, I'll work on it
