I remember our first Christmas in Japan, and how surprised our Japanese friends were that Americans didn’t know about Christmas cakes. Their traditional Christmas meal was Kentucky Fried Chicken too. Nice picture. Nice memory. Merry Christmas @boxcarblue!

It’s still that way. Though, slowly they are realizing that their customs are their own and not American. I always feel funny being a representative of American Christmas. America is so big, I have no I idea if the Christmas I know reflects the way it is celebrated across America. I never had Christmas cake in my house, but I worked in a bakery for five years and we sold a lot of Bouche Du Noel and other cakes on Christmas morning.
