One politician in Sweden thinks companies should offer a one-hour paid leave...for sex. Improving work-life balance, boosting marriages, and potentially increasing the birthrate, his proposal is met with mixed reviews.

The politician certainly gets points for originality, but I wonder how practical it would be. Take the point Malena Ivarsson touches on about the time maybe not being adequate for some women. Indeed, some people can't just "switch on" at the drop of a hat (or rather, pants!), even if they know what is in store for them.
Then there's the consideration that it will perhaps be a bit awkward to schedule this time within your day, especially if you have to get prior approval from your boss or HR.
Even if this initiative doesn't take off, hopefully it will start a constructive conversation about sex, which I think is always welcome.
As an aside, I wonder how such an initiative would pan out in Japan, which has an enormous problem with its aging population and rapidly declining birth rates.
Does that include refuge rape breaks for innocent Swedish girls?
huh?
