A Medford man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a chicken must register as a sex offender.
Joshua Brian Woltmon, 27, pleaded guilty on June 21 to felony-level sexual assault of an animal. He was sentenced to 20 days in the Jackson County Jail with credit for time served, plus two years’ probation. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender.
Woltmon had sexual contact with a chicken on May 1, according to an indictment. Medford police records show he was arrested that evening in the 500 block of South Riverside Drive.
The indictment also accused Woltmon of exposing his genitals while in a public place or in view of a public place with the intent of arousing sexual desire. Additionally, he was charged with menacing another person with a stick and putting the person in fear of imminent physical injury.
Charges of public indecency and menacing were dismissed as part of the plea arrangement.
