Show Me Some Skin!
A friend of mine recently told me that I'd make a lot more money as a woman on steemit if I showed a little more skin. He said, "This platform is made up primarily of geeky engineer MALES who don't get out much. You could totally crush it if you wanted to."
I said to him, "You know what? You're right. I probably could make a lot more if I just show off more skin. Which is expressly why I choose NOT to. As much as I'd like to earn money on here, I'd like my methods to be sound. I would like to be known for my thoughts. Not my boobs and thighs. I mean, don't get me wrong. It's tempting to play that card. And I do think we should capitalize on our "assets" a little bit. But I'm a grown ass woman who can handle herself on here just fine without the use of sex appeal. If you like me, I will know (hopefully) that it's not just because I appeal to you sexually.
If I do, well thanks. I mean, I'm flattered. And if you like my personality, all the better. And perhaps I might get some attention for being female. I have no idea. But you and I both know that any real respect I gain on here is going to be because of my content.
I WILL make it to the top. Don't you worry about that. And when I do, I will never have to wonder if the reason I got there was because I gave you a boner. If I started going that route, I think my fans would ultimately be disappointed in me, and I would not get the same quality of experience on here, nor would I attract the same types of people to my blog, in my opinion. It's hard enough having to sort through the slimeballs and skuzzbuckets. I think it would make my job that much harder to find out who my real friends were. Plus, I feel like I would be insulting BOTH genders if I sold out and just inched my way to the top on the boob factor.
I'm not saying we women can't be sexy. And we all have our own rules of how we dress and present ourselves. And that's perfectly up to us what that line should be.

I am just saying there are some very high quality users on here who still have not grasped the concept that being decent and modest is actually pretty cool too. But that's OK. I can hardly fault them, especially when they are being rewarded for showing it off. If I didn't know any better, I'd be doing the same thing.
We're all in this together, guys. We are all doing our best. And I may just have a different set of parameters in my life that work for me. So I don't wanna judge anyone who is capitalizing on their assets differently than I am.
But the clickbait picture I have shown above (royalty free from pixabay) is probably the most "boob" you're ever gunna get from me. Sorry guys.
And you know what? I DO have skin in the game. Just not the "skin" you're thinking of. And I hope it shows.
Let me know YOUR thoughts on the subject in the comments below. I'd love to hear from you!
As always,
For the most part, I avoid all topics that fuel the "gender wars". I don't join girl groups, or play the lady card.
However, I would like to give SteemIt's community some credit on this topic. I don't see a lot of skin being successful often on SteemIt, and it makes me proud.
There are a few exceptions, but men using women as skin filled marketing fodder meant to trigger the lowest parts of our brains seems to be a dying concept and it makes most people uncomfortable these days.
For this I am happy.
I agree. I think the people on here that make it to the top on boob factor is limited. And I'm proud of that fact. I think the group here really does value good content. But I do know a few who milk it a bit, and I think they are rewarded for it. And whatevs. They're still good content producers. I just think they don't need to go that route. It's lame. I've seen some kind of slutty stuff, frankly. And it is just not necessary on here. That's my point. You don't need to be slutty to succeed on here. Especially if you're smart. Please capitalize on that asset.
You are right. This platform does well with other quality posts. Making crypto from NSFW posts is a crime in its own wat. Dont feed these incels and perverts!
I agree with you that you don't have to show skin to get upvoted. Consistency and quality are the keys.
Regards.
Here here. And community. And I want a certain kind of community.
Lol omg so true girl . Us respectable woman know that we can and will do better then just showing skin lol. Plus boners are so ugly in my opinion 😏
LOL!! I agree -- except for the last part. Tee hee hee....
The largest sex organ we have is our mind!
Awww. That was romantic. Are you single? He he he
Whoring yourself can create success with consequences. Either way, its your body and choice to take that route. I personally believe you will make it to the top without going that route. Lots of perverts and incels on this platform that dont need to be fed. Kudos!
I completely agree! It comes with its own consequences, which I prefer not to have.
Sometimes I wish I had some money makers to shake.;)
I do see what you are talking about here and there on the site but there are also some who use their looks and assets in a creative way.
Like who? Gimme some good examples of people who use their assets in a creative way, that does not also take away from what they are already doing? And we'll suss them out.
Sorry for my grammar mistakes in my comment.
I think you should check out @eveuncovered. I think what she is doing as a photographer is very artistic. Coupled with that she has a wicked sense of humour.
Yeah, I mean she's obviously a legitimate artist. A beautiful model. I think she's got fantastic legs too. Why not capitalize on them, right? I can't say I disagree with her approach, but if all of her posts were like that, I'd be like gag me please. She's got a lot of great photography as well. Not just self portraits with but cheeks hanging out. Don't get me wrong, her self portraits are beautifully done, but I mean....you know...I'm not here to look at butt cheeks in the sunrise. Is all I'm saying.
I understand where your coming from and I also get tired of sexualised posts for votes. That said, I do have my NSFW filter turned off, but that is because alot of artist think they should use it if they paint a nipple. Not because I like looking at headless cam girls.
Each to their own, I suppose.
