Does a dusty old out-building at a sawmill count as architecture? :)
I shot this on medium format film, back in photography school. I was soo proud of this (arguable plain and boring) shot. Mainly because I love minimal compositions, and because I managed to get pretty good exposure on a shot that is clearly very difficult to get great dynamic range. I also loved the dust clinging to the wall, and how the direct sunlight highlighted that texture. Whenever I look at it I can smell sawdust and feel sunshine. I also made a really great print of it in the darkroom, which I was also proud of (it still hangs in my home!). The dodging and burning was super fun- I managed to get detail in the darks and the lights.
I find shooting film to be almost meditative. I move slower, see better, breathe more deeply. I am more conscious of what I am shooting and why, because each frame is precious (film and processing is expensive these days, you guys!). That and knowing that the exposure is creating a really cool chemical reaction always blew my mind. I love photography. :)
